The Junior Giants events are a great opportunity for kids aged 8 – 16 years to compete with other swimmers their own age.

We have a short & long course to choose from:

  • 300m Short Course (8 – 16 yrs)
  • 800m Long Course (10 – 16 yrs)

We also encourage family and friends to share the experience and swim the course alongside the kids in the 300m Dash.

Sunshine Coast

This is the big one. One Mile (1.6km) is the most popular open water distance around the globe for a reason – it’s well within reach for beginners and a great time trial for experienced swimmers.

Beginning at Mooloolaba’s South-Eastern end (The Spit), the One Mile course (1.6km) follows an M shaped path north towards the finish line. The first turn is located directly out from the start near the Mooloolah river mouth. Midway, the course brings swimmers back towards the breakers then out again to the final turn.

The course will start at Mooloolaba Beach, travel north towards a turn at Alex Beach, then return following the headland back to the finish at Mooloolaba.  This course is exposed to the conditions and we only encourage experienced ocean swimmers to enter this event.

The field will be limited to just 200 swimmers – get in quick when entries open!

MOOLOOLABA BEACH FESTIVAL

Welcome to the new Mooloolaba Beach Festival! The new-look weekend of events is a celebration of sand, surf and beach culture on the Sunshine Coast. We’ve put together a program of events that offer a range of experiences, including ocean swims (some old and some new!) paddling events that both elites and weekend paddlers will enjoy and community events that the whole family, of any age, can participate in.
